Kulmen Traverse Full automation control
Level 03 · Fully automated

Software for fully automated warehouses

In a fully automated warehouse, Kulmen manages stock and orders and directly controls AS/RS such as four-way pallet shuttles, box shuttles and vertical lifts, goods-to-person stations, robotic picking and automated loading. Every load is tracked from storage to dispatch, and custom logic can be added for any special equipment.

Automated storage rack holding green totes

Kulmen Traverse is designed for fully automated warehouses, giving you total control over complex systems, from AS/RS to robotics, with end-to-end visibility and intelligent orchestration.

Stock and machines in one place

The same system that reserves stock tells the shuttle where to go.

Live view of every machine

Positions, battery, lift levels and alarms on a live warehouse layout.

Room to grow

Modular services add new equipment and third-party systems without stopping operations.

A day in this warehouse

What Kulmen does, hour by hour.

  1. Scheduled replenishment

Kulmen checks tote stock against the next day’s orders and plans replenishment while the site is quiet.

  2. Automatic retrieval

Four-way shuttles bring source pallets to goods-to-person stations, where the replenishment totes are built.

  3. Totes to storage

Mobile robots carry the replenished totes to the tote AS/RS, where box shuttles store them.

  4. Automatic unloading

Inbound pallets and cartons are unloaded automatically and fed straight into storage.

  5. Automatic order processing

Orders are released and the AS/RS brings pallets or totes to the goods-to-person stations.

  6. Operator picks

The station screen shows source, item, quantity and destination carton. One scan, one confirm.

  7. Robotic palletising

Robots build the finished cartons into outbound pallets, sequenced by route.

  8. Automatic loading

Completed pallets are loaded onto trucks automatically and confirmed by scan.

Does Kulmen replace the machine controllers?

Kulmen sits above the PLCs. It sends transport and storage commands to the controllers, receives status and positions back, and decides routing, sequencing and priorities. Machine safety and motion control stay in the PLCs.

Can operators still work in an automated site?

Yes. Goods-to-person stations, exception handling, maintenance and manual zones run on the same platform, so people and machines share one order flow.
